You may have heard that PTSD mainly develops in soldiers, but it’s actually more common than you might think. PTSD affects around 8 million adults in the U.S. each year, and there are many types of traumatic events that can trigger the disorder.

OCD

Lumel mental health services recognizes obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD) as a mental health condition characterized by intrusive thoughts or urges, referred to as obsessions. These obsessions compel individuals to perform repetitive actions or behaviors, known as compulsions. The presence of obsessions often results in heightened anxiety and emotional distress, prompting individuals to resort to compulsive behaviors in an attempt to alleviate these distressing feelings.
